NEW YORK -- A freight train carrying hazardous materials derailed Thursday morning in the town of Mansfield, the U.S. state of Connecticut, leading to the overturn of several cars of the train into a river.
Mansfield Fire Chief John Roache said four of the train's cars carrying liquid propane ended up in the water. No injuries have been reported, he added.

CAIRO -- Iran has deployed one of its largest missiles at an underground facility unveiled Wednesday, Iran's Fars News Agency reported Thursday.
Fars said the Khorramshahr-4 long-range ballistic missile was among the operational assets displayed during the opening of the site, which is operated by the Aerospace Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The agency, close to the IRGC, described the Khorramshahr-4 as one of the country's advanced medium- to long-range ballistic missiles, with an estimated range of about 2,000 kilometers. (Iran-Missile)

WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday called for replacing the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty between the United States and Russia with a "modernized" deal.
"We should have our Nuclear Experts work on a new, improved, and modernized Treaty that can last long into the future," Trump said on Truth Social.
He refused to extend the treaty which expired on Thursday, and criticized it, saying the pact is "a badly negotiated deal by the United States" and "is being grossly violated." (U.S.-Russia-New START)

KIEV -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Thursday that the next peace talks with the delegations of the U.S. and Russia will be held soon.
"Further meetings are planned in the near future, likely in the United States," Zelensky said in his evening address.
