ISLAMABAD, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's security forces killed 24 terrorists during two separate intelligence-based operations conducted on Wednesday and Thursday in the northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military said on Friday.
The operations were carried out in Orakzai and Khyber districts, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army.
In Orakzai district, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation after reports of militant presence, killing 14 militants during an exchange of fire, the statement said.
Another operation in Khyber district resulted in the killing of 10 more militants following a gun battle, it added.
The ISPR said sanitization operations are underway to eliminate any remaining militants, reaffirming the security forces' commitment to safeguarding the country. Enditem
