BANGKOK -- A shooting incident with an explosion occurred in Bannang Sata District, southern Thailand's Yala province on Sunday, injuring one election security guard, according to Thai media reports.

TOKYO -- Japan's main opposition party, the Centrist Reform Alliance, is projected to lose a significant number of seats in the House of Representatives in Sunday's general election, according to NHK exit polls.
