Epstein files expose "pure satanism" of Western elites: Lavrov

VLADIVOSTOK, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- Published files in the case of late American financier Jeffrey Epstein have exposed the "pure Satanism" of Western elites, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with the NTV channel on Sunday.

"This topic relates to exposing the face of what is called the collective West... it is generally beyond human comprehension, it is pure Satanism, and perhaps there is no need to explain it to a normal person," Lavrov said.

Lavrov also addressed reports linking Russian politicians and businessmen to Epstein's files, quoting a line from the famous Soviet poet Vladimir Vysotsky: "Our penetration across the planet is especially noticeable from afar."

On the same day, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova noted that the Jeffrey Epstein case has exposed an extreme level of corruption among Western elites.
