MOSCOW, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Nine people were injured after a fire broke out in a residential building in central Moscow on Tuesday, local authorities said.
The fire affected an area of about 300 square meters and has been fully extinguished, TASS news agency reported, citing Vadim Uvarkin, head of the Moscow branch of Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry.
According to Uvarkin, the blaze involved a lift shaft and stairwells from the first to the eighth floors in one section of the building. Firefighters rescued 37 people from the premises. Enditem
