KABUL, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Afghan authorities have collected and incinerated about 100 tons of expired and substandard medicines and food items in the capital, Kabul, in a major operation to safeguard public health, the official Bakhtar News Agency reported on Saturday.
The Kabul Municipality, in collaboration with supervisory health teams, regularly inspects drugstores and commercial outlets to verify the quality of medicines and foodstuffs. Any substandard or expired items discovered are immediately confiscated and destroyed, the report said. Enditem
