KABUL -- Afghan police in a drive against illegal drugs set ablaze more than 3.7 tonnes of narcotics in the southern Uruzgan province on Sunday, provincial police spokesman Bilal Urzgani said.

MANILA -- A total of 39.8 billion pesos (about 686.04 million U.S. dollars) in fresh funding has been allocated this year to strengthen the Philippines' disaster response and rehabilitation efforts, lawmaker Marcelino Libanan said Sunday.

HANOI -- Six people previously reported missing since Saturday have been confirmed dead following a boat capsize in north Vietnam's Lao Cai province, the Vietnam News Agency reported Sunday.
