ISLAMABAD, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- Unknown gunmen shot dead six people before setting their vehicles on fire in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province on Monday, police sources said.
The incident happened in Panjgur district, where the attackers opened fire on two vehicles traveling along a road reportedly used for informal oil transportation, killing six people on the spot, the sources told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
Police and Levies personnel, who rushed to the site after receiving information, cordoned off the area, the sources said.
An investigation is underway to determine the nature and motive of the attack, and efforts are ongoing to identify the deceased.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. Enditem
