SAO PAULO -- Record-breaking heavy rains since Monday in southeastern Brazil have killed at least 20 people, official sources said Tuesday.
In the rain-hit city of Juiz de Fora in southeastern Minas Gerais state, 16 people died, 45 were missing, and about 440 were left homeless. Several kilometers away from the city, in Uba, heavy rains left four people dead. (Brazil-Heavy rain)

MEXICO CITY -- At least 62 people have died after violence erupted Sunday following the killing of "El Mencho," one of the world's most wanted drug traffickers.
Speaking at a press conference in Mexico City, Mexico's Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection Omar Garcia Harfuch said the dead included 25 National Guard members, a prison guard, an agent from the prosecutor's office, and a civilian woman caught in the crossfire. TEHRAN -- Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) held a combined drill along the country's southern coast, the semi-official Fars news agency reported on Tuesday.

NEW DELHI -- Six members of a family, including five children, were killed and one suffered burns after a fire broke out inside their residential building in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, police said Tuesday.
The fire broke out on Monday night in a three-storey residential building at Lisari Gate of Meerut district, about 488 km northwest of Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh. (India-Building-Fire) Enditem
