MOSCOW -- Five police officers were killed and six others injured following a Ukrainian attack in the Kherson region, Russian authorities said on Monday.

According to the regional office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the attack occurred on Saturday afternoon when Ukrainian forces launched a strike targeting officers of the Golopristansky district police department. (Russia-Ukraine-Kherson)

TEHRAN -- At least 555 people have been killed in U.S. and Israeli strikes against Iran since Saturday morning, the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) said on Monday.

PARIS -- French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said Monday that France is ready to participate in the defense of the Gulf countries and Jordan based on binding agreements.
