JERUSALEM, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Hezbollah anti-tank fire moderately injured two Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers in southern Lebanon on Wednesday, the military said.
The two were evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment.
The attack came a day after Israeli forces crossed into southern Lebanon, with the IDF saying they had "assumed forward defensive positions in order to establish an additional defensive layer to remove the threats to the residents of northern Israel."
Meanwhile, the Islamic Resistance, the armed wing of Hezbollah, announced on Wednesday that it launched swarms of attack drones targeting Israeli military assets, including Iron Dome radars at the Kiryat Eliezer air defense base in Haifa, the Ein Shemer air defense missile base, and the Tel Hashomer military base southeast of Tel Aviv.
The group said that the drone strikes were in response to Israeli strikes on multiple Lebanese areas, including Beirut's southern suburbs.
Earlier in the day, Israel's Magen David Adom rescue service reported that one man was injured by shrapnel and another suffered blast-related injuries. Both were listed in light condition and received medical treatment at the scene. Enditem
