SYDNEY, March 6 (Xinhua) -- Police in the Australian state of Queensland have charged five men after seizing over 150 kg of illicit drugs, including cocaine, methamphetamine and heroin.

The Queensland Police Service (QPS) said in a statement on Friday that the drug seizure was the result of an operation that was launched in August 2025 to target the trafficking of dangerous drugs between Queensland, the neighboring Northern Territory (NT) and the state of Western Australia (WA).

As part of the operation, the QPS said investigators on Wednesday executed search warrants at four residences in and south of Brisbane where they located and seized 66 kg of methamphetamine, 41 kg of cocaine, 35 kg of ketamine, 12 kg of MDMA and 1.5 kg of heroin.

Mobile phones, cash, prescription medication and steroids were also seized.

Five men aged between 18 and 41 were subsequently arrested and charged with offenses relating to the trafficking and possession of dangerous drugs.

The QPS said that the drug trafficking syndicate has alleged links to outlawed motorcycle gangs.

Detective Acting Superintendent Brad Phelps from the QPS Drug and Serious Crime Group said that the operation had disrupted a significant drug network operation. Enditem
