KABUL, March 8 (Xinhua) -- Construction is underway on 40 transportation terminals and truck parking facilities across Afghanistan, aimed at enhancing transit and transport services nationwide, the office of the deputy prime minister for economic affairs announced on Sunday.
The initiative, valued at 2.85 billion afghanis (more than 44.8 million U.S. dollars), is funded through the Afghan government's development budget, said the office, adding that the projects are being executed in compliance with international standards and span more than 14 provinces.
The office highlighted that the projects have generated around 10,000 jobs, boosting local employment amid ongoing economic challenges. Enditem
