WASHINGTON, March 11 (Xinhua) -- A vehicle reportedly drove through a barricade near the White House on Wednesday morning, with U.S. media reporting that the driver has been detained.
"A vehicle collided with the WH (White House) gate, at Connecticut and H Street NW," Sara Cook, a reporter for CBS News posted on social media platform X, citing a Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson.
U.S. Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi said that the driver has been detained and is being questioned, Cook said.
According to a report by local media DC News Now, the Metropolitan Police Department assisted the U.S. Secret Service after a van drove through the barricade at Connecticut Avenue and H Street, Northwest.
