ABUJA, April 10 (Xinhua) -- At least 10 suspected terrorists were killed during recent coordinated raids by Nigerian government forces in the country's central Plateau State, the army said Friday.
The operations carried out in the Wase and Kanam Local Government Areas identified terrorist corridors around Daba and Seri villages on Thursday, the army said in a statement.
The troops established blocking positions along a forest area, leading to contact with suspected terrorists moving on motorcycles along the axis, the statement said. The terrorists were engaged in a gunfight, "resulting in the killing of at least 10 of them, while others fled with suspected gunshot wounds."
The army added that it will intensify the raids, with troops maintaining a high fighting spirit and sustained offensive posture in the area. Enditem
