BEIRUT -- Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes on southern Lebanon on Friday, killing at least two people, authorities and media reports said.
Lebanon's Public Health Emergency Operations Center said an Israeli airstrike on the town of Touline at dawn killed two people.
Later in the day, Israeli warplanes launched three consecutive strikes on the town of Deir Aames, following an Israeli army warning for residents to evacuate, Lebanese official media reported. (Lebanon-Israel-Strikes)

ABU DHABI -- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) said on Friday that it had mediated another prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine, resulting in the release of 386 detainees.
The exchange involved 193 Russians and 193 Ukrainian prisoners, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement. (UAE-Russia-Ukraine-Prisoner Exchange)

TEHRAN -- Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi will visit Pakistan, Oman, and Russia, Iran's official IRNA news agency reported on Friday.
The trip will take him to Islamabad, Muscat, and Moscow, starting Friday evening, the IRNA reported.
Araghchi will hold bilateral consultations and discuss regional developments, as well as the latest situation of what Iran described as the "imposed war by the United States and the Israeli regime" against the country, it added. (Iran-FM-Pakistan)

NICOSIA -- The leaders of the European Union (EU) on Friday called for diplomatic efforts to negotiate a lasting end to the Middle East conflict, urging full and permanent freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
Following an informal meeting of EU leaders in Cyprus, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the EU's shared goal is now to negotiate a lasting end to the war.
