FC Barcelona looks to secure La Liga title this weekend

MADRID, May 1 (Xinhua) -- FC Barcelona can be crowned in La Liga this weekend if results go the way of Hansi Flick's side.

Barcelona needs to win its road game against Osasuna on Saturday, and for Real Madrid to either lose or draw away to Espanyol on Sunday, to secure the title, before Real Madrid visits the Camp Nou on May 10.

Osasuna's El Sadar Stadium is a difficult ground for Flick, who suffered his first league defeat as Barcelona coach in September 2024.

Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal is out for the rest of the domestic season with his torn hamstring, but Raphinha and Marc Bernal both returned to training with the squad during the week and could play some part in the game.

Meanwhile, Jules Kounde is suspended for accumulation of yellow cards. Joao Cancelo is likely to move to right-back with Alejandro Balde on the left.

Osasuna is currently ninth in the standings still battling for a place in Europe, and a win could lift it to as high as sixth.

Veteran striker Ante Budimir has 16 league goals this season and will be the main threat, especially as Spain international Victor Munoz is sidelined with a calf injury.

Osasuna coach Alessio Lisci could field Budimir along with Raul Garcia, which would pose a big challenge for Barcelona. Enditem
