TOKYO, May 2 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.7 struck Nara Prefecture in western Japan on Saturday, the country's weather agency said.
No immediate injuries or damage have been reported.
The temblor occurred at 6:28 p.m. local time in Nara Prefecture at a depth of 70 km, measuring 4 on Japan's seismic scale of 7 in some areas in Nara, Mie and Wakayama prefectures, said the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA).
The quake's epicenter was located at a latitude of 34.1 degrees north and a longitude of 135.6 degrees east.
No tsunami warning was issued, according to the JMA. Enditem
