Kabul -- Afghan counter-narcotics forces have seized a substantial quantity of narcotics and drug-processing materials during ongoing operations in southern Helmand province, the state-run Bakhtar News Agency reported on Sunday.

According to the report, authorities confiscated approximately 8,170 kg of heroin, along with materials used in the processing and production of illegal drugs. DHAKA -- At least eight people were killed and 15 to 16 others injured in a head-on collision between two trucks in Bangladesh's Sylhet region, some 240 km northeast of the capital Dhaka, on Sunday morning, a senior police official said.

ISLAMABAD -- Iran's Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam said on Sunday that Pakistan's mediation efforts remained intact to end the U.S.-Iran conflict.

NEW DELHI -- At least nine persons, including a child and four women, were killed and nearly 20 others injured early Sunday morning in a massive fire which broke out inside a multi-story house in Delhi after a powerful blast in the air-conditioner, the Delhi Police confirmed.
