KABUL, May 4 (Xinhua) -- Police have discovered and confiscated 28 pieces of pistols in eastern Afghanistan's Paktia province, said a statement of the provincial police office on Monday.
The illegal firearms, along with more than 1,400 bullets, were seized on Sunday in Dand Patan district, the statement said.
Without providing more details, the statement noted that efforts are underway to arrest and bring to justice those behind the crime.
Earlier, police also reported the discovery and confiscation of a huge quantity of firearms, including 10 American-made Beretta pistols along with 1,000 rounds of ammunition, in the same district on Saturday. Enditem
