MANILA -- Gunshots were reported inside the Philippine Senate complex on Wednesday night amid tensions surrounding reports of an attempted arrest of Senator Ronald Dela Rosa, prompting top government officials and security forces to rush to the scene.

NEW DELHI -- Three church leaders were killed and five others wounded Wednesday after gunmen ambushed their vehicles in India's northeastern state of Manipur, police said.
The victims, members of the Thadou Baptist Association, were travelling from Churachandpur to Kangpokpi after attending a church leaders' meeting when armed assailants intercepted their vehicles and resorted to indiscriminate firing, a police official said. (India-Manipur-Ambush)

PARIS -- Mounting supply losses from the Strait of Hormuz are drawing down global oil inventories "at a record pace" and "further price volatility appears likely" ahead of the peak summer demand period, the International Energy Agency (IEA) said on Wednesday.
In its latest Oil Market Report, the IEA noted that with Hormuz tanker traffic still restricted, cumulative supply losses from Gulf producers have exceeded 1 billion barrels, with more than 14 million barrels per day (mb/d) of oil now shut in, marking an unprecedented supply shock.
