Tevez leaves Talleres after Apertura exit

BUENOS AIRES, May 13 (Xinhua) -- Carlos Tevez has been sacked as manager of Talleres after less than a year in the job, the Argentine club said on Wednesday.

The announcement followed a 1-0 home defeat to Belgrano on Saturday, a result that eliminated the club from the Apertura tournament.

"The board of directors thanks Carlos Tevez and his entire coaching staff for their time in charge of the club's first team," the Cordoba-based side said in a statement published on social media.

Tevez oversaw 13 wins, 11 draws and 11 defeats after his appointment last July.

It was the former Manchester United and Juventus forward's third job as a manager, having also had spells in charge of Independiente and Rosario Central. Enditem
