ACCRA, May 14 (Xinhua) -- Cameroon's Emmanuel Eseme clinched the men's 100m gold at the 24th African Senior Athletics Championships on Wednesday, winning in 10.25 seconds.
Eseme told Xinhua that he had a strong self-belief. "At the beginning, I had a lot of tiredness, and I thought of giving up, of not taking the race, but then I just had to believe in myself," he said.
"Right now, we just have to return to training, rest, recover properly, and keep on pushing and trying to get better," Eseme added.
South Africa's Bradley Nkoana got silver, with Nigeria's Chidera Ezeakor taking bronze.
The tournament runs through Sunday. Enditem
