GAZA -- Seven Palestinians were killed and at least 50 others injured on Friday evening in Israeli strikes targeting a residential apartment and a vehicle in Gaza City, according to Palestinian medical sources.

BEIRUT -- Three paramedics were killed and another seriously wounded on Friday in an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon, as Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam urged stronger Arab and international backing for Lebanon's diplomatic efforts, warning the country faces its gravest crisis since its founding.

RAMALLAH -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas warned Friday that the Israel-Hamas ceasefire in Gaza remains "fragile" as casualties mount, territory shrinks, and humanitarian aid faces persistent obstruction.

"The ceasefire remains fragile while our people continue to be killed, Gaza's geography is shrinking, and aid continues to face obstruction in clear Israeli violation," Abbas said in a speech delivered on his behalf by Palestine's Permanent Observer to the United Nations Riyad Mansour. JERUSALEM -- The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Friday it killed more than 220 Hezbollah militants in southern Lebanon over the past week.
