KABUL, May 17 (Xinhua) -- Construction work on a rice processing plant with an investment of nearly 2 million U.S. dollars has begun in northern Afghanistan's Baghlan province, official media Bakhtar News Agency reported on Sunday.
The project is being implemented in the central Baghlan-e-Markazi district, aiming to enhance domestic production. Once completed, it is expected to create job opportunities for hundreds of people, both directly and indirectly.
Authorities welcomed the investment, saying it will contribute to economic development and support farmers in the region. Enditem
