BAGHDAD, May 18 (Xinhua) -- The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Monday that it is deeply concerned over reports of three drones having targeted facilities in Saudi Arabia, reaffirming its rejection of any acts that undermine the security of regional states.
In a statement, the ministry said it has received preliminary information regarding the alleged drone incidents, and the Iraqi authorities have immediately initiated necessary verification and investigation procedures, adding that no information related to the incident has been detected through Iraq's air defense systems or optical surveillance equipment.
It called on Saudi authorities to cooperate and share relevant information to help reach accurate conclusions, enhance security and stability for both countries, and serve their shared interests.
It also affirmed Iraq's continued coordination and consultation with Saudi Arabia to strengthen regional security and stability.
On Sunday, the Saudi Ministry of Defense said it intercepted three drones which entered the kingdom's airspace from Iraq. Enditem
