JERUSALEM, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Israeli EuroLeague club Hapoel Tel Aviv announced Friday night that it has signed American point guard Keandre Cook through the end of the season.

The 29-year-old player spent last year with the Guangdong Southern Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) and later joined Ironi Kiryat Ata in the Israeli Super League.

This season, Cook has been playing for CB Breogan, currently 10th in Spain's top division. In his 31 appearances, he averaged 10.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game while shooting 40.4 percent from beyond the arc.

Cook's professional career has also included stints in Hungary, France, North Macedonia, Germany, and Australia.

Hapoel Tel Aviv finished sixth in the EuroLeague regular season before being eliminated by Real Madrid in the playoff series. The team currently sits second in the Israeli Super League standings behind fellow EuroLeague side Maccabi Tel Aviv.

"We have an important objective ahead of us, winning the championship title," Hapoel's general manager George Hinas said. "Keandre is a proven shooter, and his skill set will be valuable for us during the intensity of the playoffs." Enditem
