KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia's supply of medicines and medical devices remains stable with continuous mitigation measures being implemented, especially for critical and high-risk items, Economy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir said on Monday.
Any cost adjustments would be made in a targeted manner, based on the level of risk and actual needs, with 72 percent of all recorded medicine items at a low risk level, 11.3 percent at a medium level and 16.8 percent at a high level, which required continuous monitoring, he told a press briefing.
"The supply of raw materials and key components is at high risk due to dependence on imported sources," he said.
The minister also noted that structured mitigation measures have been put in place through a national buffer stock and diversified supply sources through strategic collaboration with other countries. Enditem
