LAUSANNE, Switzerland, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Ingmar De Vos, President of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF), said the organization is discussing with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in a bid to add more sports to the revenue share of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

"For Los Angeles, there are three sports that we are discussing with the IOC about the enrollment (of the Olympic share)," De Vos said after the 50th ASOIF General Assembly here on Wednesday, which focused on topics of strategy, governance and Olympic Games preparations with top leaderships from International Federations (IFs).

A total of 590.1 million U.S. dollars was distributed to ASOIF members from the Paris 2024 revenues, up 9.2 percent from the 540.3 million allocated from Tokyo 2020.

De Vos noted that adding three more sports to the Olympic revenue share would mean around 40 million U.S. dollars in additional income during the LA28 cycle compared to Paris 2024, assuming the IOC maintains the overall revenue level for IFs.

"It's still too early to get it out," De Vos added, as ASOIF is supposed to have a plan of the share of the revenues at the General Assembly in 2027. Enditem
