TEHRAN -- A source close to Iran's negotiating team has denied reports claiming that the text of a proposed memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Iran and the United States had been finalized, Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency reported Thursday.
The source told Tasnim that reports suggesting the text was merely awaiting formal announcement by the two sides were "not consistent with the facts," adding that the document "has not yet been finalized." (Iran-US-MOU)

JERUSALEM -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday that he has issued a directive to increase the Israeli military's control over the Gaza Strip from 60 percent to 70 percent of the territory.
Speaking at a conference in the Jordan Valley in the West Bank, Netanyahu said that Israel was in control of 50 percent of the territory of the Gaza Strip, and moved to 60 percent. (Israel-Hamas-Gaza)

BEIRUT -- An Israeli airstrike on the Choueifat area in Beirut's southern suburbs killed three people, including a woman, her infant daughter, and a Syrian child, and wounded 15 others on Thursday, Lebanon's Health Ministry said.

BAGHDAD -- A senior leader of an Iraqi armed group was killed Thursday in a sticky bomb explosion targeting his vehicle in the southern province of Maysan, the group said.
Harakat Ansar Allah al-Awfiya, part of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an umbrella body for Iraq's pro-Iran militias, in a statement identified the slain commander as Uday Muhsen al-Halfi, also known as Sheikh Dhafer, adding that another member was wounded in the attack.
