KATHMANDU, June 1 (Xinhua) -- Nepal welcomed 102,626 international visitors in May, marking a 19 percent increase compared to the same period last year, the Nepal Tourism Board said on Monday.
In a monthly report, the government's tourism promotion agency said India remained the largest source market with 40,782 arrivals, accounting for 39.74 percent of the total, followed by China and the United States.
"These encouraging figures reflect growing global confidence and momentum in positioning Nepal as a destination offering a lifetime experience," the report said.
Tourism is one of the key pillars of Nepal's economy, generating employment and foreign exchange earnings. Enditem
