BEIRUT -- At least 13 people were killed and dozens wounded in Israeli airstrikes and drone attacks across southern Lebanon from late Tuesday through Wednesday noon, according to the Lebanese National News Agency and the health authorities.

BAGHDAD -- Iraq's paramilitary Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) said early Wednesday that three Islamic State (IS) militants, including a prominent local leader, were killed during an operation in Iraq's northern province of Nineveh.

According to a PMF statement, a unit from its 60th Brigade carried out the task in the al-Baaj desert in the western part of the province in retaliation for recent deaths of Iraq's counter-terrorism troops. (Iraq-IS-Killing)

NEW DELHI -- At least 18 foreign nationals were killed in a fire that broke out at a hotel in New Delhi, India, local media reported.

According to the report, the deceased foreign nationals were from Bangladesh, Nigeria, Mozambique and Liberia. The total death toll of the fire currently stands at 21, with more than 40 taken to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation. (India-Fire)

COLOMBO -- At least 11 people remained missing and about 50 were injured in a fire that broke out in an elderly care facility in Horana, Sri Lanka's Western Province.
