ISLAMABAD, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani security forces killed four militants in two separate intelligence-based operations in the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military said on Thursday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan army, the operations were carried out on Wednesday night following intelligence reports about the presence of terrorists belonging to a foreign-sponsored group.
In the first operation in Dera Ismail Khan district, security forces engaged the militants' hideout and killed two militants after an intense exchange of fire, said the ISPR.
In a separate operation in Mohmand district, security forces killed two more militants during what the military described as a well-executed engagement.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants, who were involved in multiple terrorist activities in the area, said the military. Enditem
