GAZA, June 6 (Xinhua) -- At least six Palestinians, including two women, were killed and 15 others wounded on Saturday in an Israeli airstrike on a camp for displaced people west of Gaza City, according to Palestinian sources.
Palestinian security sources reported that Israeli drones fired two missiles at a tent inside the camp.
Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for the Civil Defense in Gaza, told Xinhua that some of the wounded are in serious condition.
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli army on the airstrike.
Israel has recently intensified its airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, targeting residential homes, tents sheltering displaced people, and Palestinian gatherings.
Earlier on Saturday, Gaza-based health authorities reported in their daily update that hospitals in the enclave received five bodies and treated 49 wounded over the past 48 hours.
It said that 951 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire since a ceasefire in Gaza took effect in October 2025, bringing the total death toll since Oct. 7, 2023, to 72,961. Enditem
