BERLIN, June 15 (Xinhua) -- Union Berlin has signed Belgian center-back Zeno Van Den Bosch from Royal Antwerp, the Bundesliga club announced on Monday.
The 22-year-old arrives after establishing himself as a regular at Antwerp, where he progressed through the club's academy following spells with Mariaburg VK, Beerschot AC and Lierse SK.
Van Den Bosch made his professional debut on Jan. 18, 2023, in a 3-0 league victory away to Ostend and ended that season by helping Antwerp secure a domestic league and cup double.
Union said Van Den Bosch has made 140 competitive appearances, scoring three goals and providing two assists. He has also represented Belgium at under-17 and under-21 levels.
"From the first conversation I had a very good feeling because the club stands for togetherness, development and clear values," he said after signing with Union. "That is exactly the environment in which I want to keep improving."
"Zeno is a young player with great development potential who can help us immediately because of the experience he has already gained. He brings size, strength in duels and also good mobility," said Union men's football managing director Horst Heldt.
