MOSCOW/MINSK -- A bus carrying a Belarusian youth football team was hit by a Ukrainian drone while traveling in Russia's Bryansk region, killing one person and injuring seven others, including five children, local authorities said on Wednesday.

A fixed-wing drone hit the bus as it was transporting the team from the Belarusian city of Gomel to Gelendzhik for a holiday, acting regional governor Yegor Kravchuk wrote on his Telegram channel. (Russia-Bus-Drone Attack)

BEIRUT -- More than 240 children have been killed and nearly 1,000 others wounded in Lebanon since fighting escalated in early March, UNICEF said Wednesday, warning that prolonged violence is taking a growing toll on the country's youngest population.

ISLAMABAD -- Three militants were killed during an intelligence-based operation conducted by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the police said in a statement on Wednesday.
