SYDNEY, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Two children have died after their pram was struck by a car in western Sydney on Wednesday afternoon.
Police said that the children, both aged under 5, were hit by a car while sitting in a pram in Cabramatta, 26 km west of central Sydney, around 3:15 p.m. local time on Wednesday.
Ambulance paramedics treated the children at the scene for critical injuries before they were taken to the hospital, where both later died.
A 33-year-old woman who was pushing the pram sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, a 56-year-old man, was uninjured, but was arrested and taken to the hospital for testing.
Police established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the incident. Enditem
