JAKARTA, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's Ministry of Social Affairs has disbursed additional disaster recovery assistance worth about 54.5 million U.S. dollars to support flood and landslide victims in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra
Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf said Wednesday the ninth round of assistance will support medium-term emergency response efforts in 10 affected districts and cities across the three provinces.
The aid will reach more than 82,000 beneficiaries through the state postal service and includes support for permanent housing needs, three months of living allowances and economic stimulus programs.
Saifullah said social assistance officers in the regions will continue monitoring the distribution to ensure the funds are used productively to restore the economic resilience of affected families. Enditem
