Afghan PM meets Kazakh deputy PM to strengthen bilateral relations

KABUL, June 21 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund met Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin in Kabul on Saturday, as the two nations moved to strengthen economic and political relations.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Akhund described bilateral ties as highly important and credited cooperation with friendly countries for Afghanistan's progress across multiple sectors, deputy spokesman for the Afghan government Hamdullah Fitrat posted on his X account.

The Kazakh delegation held separate discussions with senior Afghan officials, yielding concrete commitments.

With Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Zhumangarin announced that Kazakhstan is prepared to provide transportation subsidies for Kazakh flour exports to Herat province.

He also revealed plans to establish a sales branch for Kazakh pharmaceutical products and open a Chamber of Commerce in Kabul.

The Kazakh delegation also delivered 320 tons of humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan. Enditem
