HANOI, June 24 (Xinhua) -- A father and his son have drowned off a beach in Vietnam's central Ha Tinh province, the Vietnam News Agency reported on Wednesday.
Residents of Thanh Long hamlet discovered a body washed ashore on Monday and alerted local authorities. The victim was later identified as a 54-year-old man who had reportedly gone swimming with his 13-year-old son.
Following the discovery of the father's body, local authorities and residents launched a search for the missing boy.
The search ended on Wednesday when rescuers recovered the son's body about 100 meters from where his father's body had earlier been found along the same stretch of beach. Enditem
