ABU DHABI, June 24 (Xinhua) -- President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Wednesday discussed the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding (MoU) and regional security, local media reported.
The two sides reviewed the MoU, efforts to ensure full and safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, and the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the region, UAE-based Khaleej Times said.
Rubio is on a visit to the UAE, the first stop on his Gulf tour, which also includes Kuwait.
Iran and the United States signed a MoU last week aimed at easing regional tensions and facilitating the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a key global energy shipping route. Enditem
