WASHINGTON, June 24 (Xinhua) -- U.S. forces killed a senior ISIS leader, identified as Ali Husayn al-'Ulaywi, in northwestern Syria on Friday, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Wednesday.
The airstrike that killed the leader "is part of ongoing U.S. efforts to disrupt and eliminate terrorists seeking to attack Americans abroad or the U.S. homeland," CENTCOM said in a post on X.
The U.S. military will continue to work with its regional partners to root out remaining ISIS members, said CENTCOM Commander Brad Cooper. Enditem
