ALMATY -- Kazakhstan has reduced the gas production at the Karachaganak field following disruptions at the Orenburg gas processing plant in Russia, Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov said on Friday.

The gas output has been cut from 34,000 tonnes to 25,000 tonnes, without affecting domestic gas supplies, the Kazinform news agency quoted Akkenzhenov as saying. (Kazakhstan-Gas Output)

MOSCOW/KIEV -- Russia and Ukraine each exchanged 160 prisoners of war on Friday in the latest swap between the two sides, Russian and Ukrainian authorities said.
