ANKARA, June 26 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and another injured in an explosion at a fireworks factory in central Türkiye's Nigde province on Friday, local authorities said.
The blast occurred at around 4:00 p.m. local time at the Yertas Fireworks Factory in the Kemerhisar town of Bor district, according to a statement from the Nigde Governor's Office cited by Ihlas News Agency.
Emergency teams were rapidly dispatched to the scene. Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control.
The injured person received initial treatment at a local hospital before being transferred to a medical facility outside the province for further care.
Authorities have launched both a judicial investigation and an administrative inquiry into the cause of the explosion, the statement said. Enditem
