WASHINGTON -- U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Friday that Israel and Lebanon have reached a U.S.-brokered framework agreement for "lasting peace and security," despite repeated failures to uphold previous ceasefire agreements between the two neighbors.

OUAGADOUGOU -- Burkina Faso announced on Friday evening that it had decided to sever diplomatic relations with France with immediate effect, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office of Burkina Faso.
According to the statement, the decision followed "a thorough assessment of the current state of bilateral relations between Burkina Faso and France." The government said that "the conditions essential for promoting relations based on mutual respect, reciprocal trust, respect for the principle of non-interference in internal affairs and national sovereignty are no longer in place." KINSHASA -- The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has reported 1,203 confirmed cases of Ebola, including 321 deaths, since the outbreak was declared in mid-May, according to the latest report released Friday by the country's public health authorities.
According to the report, 148 patients have recovered, while 419 patients are in isolation or receiving hospital care. Health authorities also identified 265 suspected cases, including 77 deaths. (DR Congo-Ebola)

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. military on Friday launched airstrikes on Iranian missile and drone storage locations and coastal radar installations, calling the operation "a powerful response" to the alleged Iranian drone attack on a commercial vessel transiting the Strait of Hormuz a day earlier, according to the U.S. Central Command.
