YANGON, June 28 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar marked World MSME Day in Nay Pyi Taw on Saturday, the state-owned daily The Global New Light of Myanmar reported on Sunday.
Speaking at the ceremony, Myanmar's President U Min Aung Hlaing called for greater support for Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs). He urged regional and state governments and local agencies to promote the sustainable development of MSMEs based on local agricultural and livestock products.
He also stressed the importance of maintaining stable supply chains and ensuring product quality.
In Myanmar, around 90 percent of businesses are MSMEs, accounting for about 70 percent of employment generation, it said. Enditem
