The blast resulted from a "malicious act," a spokesperson for the Monegasque government was quoted as saying by French newspaper Le Figaro.
Regional newspaper Nice Matin reported that the incident occurred at around 9:15 p.m. local time, when a man allegedly left an explosive device in the lobby of a building before fleeing. The device exploded as several people were entering the building.
