BANGKOK, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the safe departure of Thai vessels and vessels related to Thai operators from the Strait of Hormuz, according to its press release issued on Tuesday.

Following efforts to assist the 11 Thai-flagged vessels and vessels chartered by Thai operators stranded in the Strait of Hormuz since its closure on Feb. 28, the ministry said 10 of the said vessels have safely departed.

At present, only one such vessel, namely the Hatthaya Naree, remains in the area of the Strait of Hormuz awaiting cargo loading and is expected to depart the area as soon as possible thereafter, it said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes this positive development and will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide assistance to the remaining vessel until it is able to safely depart the area. Enditem
