SINGAPORE, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Singapore on Tuesday launched its first national standard on tree management, establishing unified guidelines for pruning practices in tropical urban environments to improve tree health, public safety and industry standards.
The Code of Practice for Pruning of Trees in Tropical Urban Landscapes sets out common standards and best practices for the industry, the National Parks Board and the Landscape Industry Association (Singapore) said in a statement.
The new framework aims to align local tree care practices with international standards while adapting them to tropical urban conditions. Authorities noted that existing practices have largely been based on guidelines developed for temperate cities and tree species. Enditem
