JERUSALEM, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Three international carriers resumed flights to Israel on Wednesday, four months after the outbreak of the Israel-U.S. war with Iran, according to the Israel Airports Authority (IAA) and the airlines.

Germany's Lufthansa resumed operations between Frankfurt Airport and Ben Gurion International Airport outside Tel Aviv, with two daily flights.

The airline said it will also resume flights on the Munich-Tel Aviv route on August 1, with two daily flights as well.

Italy's national airline ITA Airways, also part of the Lufthansa Group, resumed two daily flights from Rome to Tel Aviv.

The Lufthansa Group said that its two subsidiaries, Swiss and Brussels Airlines, will follow suit in August, while the group's Austrian Airlines had already restarted service to Tel Aviv in early June.

Latvia's flag carrier airBaltic restarted its Riga-Tel Aviv route with three weekly flights.

The IAA said in a statement on Wednesday that it expects 2.3 million passengers to pass through Ben Gurion International Airport this month, up 25 percent from July 2025. Enditem
